Re: The treasure of the cat kind
"That's... Damn strange. I mean, the guy I bought this from was a human, the past owner of the collection - that one who "died", and then turned out that she was very alive and stuck into some off-world affair, but her stuff got auctioned away, - was an Ansharu, so I thought that I was just the first full-blood catlord touching the ring after some sort of reset... But it doesn't explain the book."
"Could it be... Umm... Boss, is it ok to talk about your... Relatives?"
"No names."
"Not names... I mean, you are from that ancient family, right? And you mentioned that you don't really know where it came from..."
"Don't care is better word. It sounds cool, but doesn't matter in practice, and the risk of getting your DNA leaked just isn't worth it. Do you think it has something to do with that?"
"Idk, really, but it kinda makes sense."
Max didn't have an answer for how that book ended up there, thought. Not even one to roll with for the lack of more information. It may have been put there intentionally, and maybe it layed there since this whole thing was abandoned... Or maybe it was in fact someone's - maybe some of his very distinct relatives', far beyond the mafia, - log that got lost on the planet.
In any case, whoever created that log claimed that they moved forward toward the big stone, that was now covered by vegetative but still visible. And warned to avoid pits in the ground and vines with small yellow flowers.
